“Chances of leaving are high” – Manchester United given big chance of signing, but “decisive factor” key

Manchester United’s chances of signing Napoli defender Kim Min-jae are high this summer, if they make an official bid for him.

That’s according to the director of Corriere dello Sport Pasquale Salvione, who insist the real “decisive factor” will be the will of the player himself.

Kim has been one of the stars of Napoli’s success this season and has earned himself a growing list of admirers as a result, with Manchester United believed to be at the front of the queue for his signature.

Reports over the last week have seen them progressively moving forwards with a potential deal and last week seeing an apparent escalation of their interest.

In fact, Friday saw two separate reports pushing them even further, stating that they were in advanced talks over a transfer and ready to pay what is necessary to secure his signature.

Salvione believes the chances of him departing are high if that is the case, but there is more to the matter than Manchester United simply offering up the money.

“Kim’s clause gives a foreign club the possibility of being able to sign the Korean talent,” he said.

“If, as it seems, Manchester United’s interest is concrete, the chances of leaving are high. However, the negotiations are done in two, and the consent of the blue club is not taken for granted.

“Above all, the will of the player will have to be awaited, the real decisive factor in this sense.”
