Arsenal are one of the clubs in the race for Vitória de Guimarães’ Ibrahima Bamba.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who state the Premier League side would have to battle it out with German clubs to sign the 21-year-old in the summer.
The defensive midfielder’s ‘rapid rise’ at Vitória de Guimarães has resulted in several clubs taking notice. The report doesn’t provide the details of the Bundesliga sides that are keen to land him, but does mention Arsenal.
It’s explained the Gunners have already held talks with the player’s agent regarding the potential transfer. In addition to Mikel Arteta’s side, other English clubs also have Bamba on their radar.
His contract expires in 2026 and includes a €30m release clause. Bamba is expected to make a move away from the Portuguese side in the next window.
Fussball Transfers add that his entourage claim that Vitória de Guimarães are ‘ready to talk’ if there’s an offer of over €10m.
Taking this, along with Bamba’s profile and age, into account it could be a ‘bargain’ deal for Arsenal or any other club that could end up signing him.
