Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is among the candidates to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Ryan Mason is currently in charge of the Premier League side, who have been without a permanent manager since they parted ways with Antonio Conte in March.
De Telegraaf journalist Valentijn Driessen has told Vandaag Inside, relayed by Fr12.nl, that Tottenham want to hold talks with the 44-year-old over the vacant job.
“Slot has been invited by Tottenham for a conversation. He has a conversation, but the English club have this conversation with three or four managers and actually always do it that way. Nagelsmann, Slot and Pochettino come by and tell their story. Slot will have this conversation,” he said.
Over at De Telegraaf, journalist Marcel van der Kraan also claims Slot is in contention for the Tottenham job, but Alonso is in the lead.
Slot has helped Feyenoord sit on top of the league table and they are the firm candidate to win the title this season. He joined the Dutch side from AZ Alkmaar in 2021 and has done an impressive job in rebuilding the squad at these two sides.
The Dutchman is ‘convinced’ about implementing Feyenoord’s attractive style of play, if he were to land the job at Spurs.
Slot lacks the experience of managing in a top league and is yet to win a trophy. According to Van der Kraan, these factors could influence Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
Slot is represented by Rafaëla Pimenta and the agent has already held talks with Crystal Palace, but those chats haven’t led to a deal.
