Feyenoord are “holding their breath” and waiting for Tottenham to move for manager Arne Slot if they don’t secure Julian Nagelsmann’s signature.
That’s according to journalists Etienne Verhoeff and Johan Inan, who believe there is every chance the Dutchman could end up in the Premier League next season.
Slot has been impressing in the Netherlands this season, leading them to the top of the Eredivisie with an attractive brand of football which has them ahead of the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
Slot rejected that move in favour of seeing out the season in the Netherlands but has continued to be linked to jobs in England, with a recent report stating that Tottenham had now narrowed their shortlist down to him and Julian Nagelsmann.
At the moment he former Bayern Munich manager appears to be the favourite, but Verhoeff says Feyenoord are still concerned Tottenham will move for Slot.
“Yes, I think they are holding their breath too, they have every reason to,” Feyenoord Pings report him saying.
“I have been getting the feeling with Slot for some time that if a nice English club comes along that he feels ready for it, for a top league,” added fellow journalist Inan on the subject.
