Inter Milan are ready to sell goalkeeper André Onana this summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United both interested in the Cameroonian stopper.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by FC Inter News, who say the Italian side have already selected Guglielmo Vicario as Onana’s replacement.
They explain that ‘there are few doubts’ about the Empoli goalkeeper and thus they are ready to sanction a departure for Onana.
They want to ‘monetise’ the great season that he has enjoyed this season as ‘best they can’, with Onana having shone in Serie A and the Champions League so far.
They are aware that there are interested parties and that he is ‘in the sights’ of Chelsea and Manchester United, with the Blues in the list of suitors.
Both sides need a new number one, with Chelsea unconvinced by Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga and Manchester United yet to agree a new deal with David de Gea, whose contract expires this summer.
Even if he signs a new contract there is a feeling Erik ten Hag needs a new number one, particularly one more comfortable with the ball at his feet, and Onana would fit the profile.
Inter have now made it clear they are willing to sell, although they only ‘intend to start’ from a base fee of €50m in the hope of creating an auction and getting as much as possible for the player.
