Liverpool should be considering a move for Feyenoord star Orkun Kökçü if they are targeting Ryan Gravenberch this summer.

That’s according to Aad de Mos, who believes the Turkish midfielder is good enough to play for Liverpool if Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo are.

Kökçü has been impressing for Feyenoord this season, further establishing himself as one of their key players with a tally of 12 goals and four assists in 40 games in all competitions so far.

It has led to increasing speculation about his future with the Dutch side, with several clubs in Europe thought to be keeping a close eye on his development ahead of the summer.

Liverpool are not one of those who have been seriously thrown into the mix as yet, despite the fact they seem destined to completely overhaul their midfield this summer.

One of the players they’ve been linked to as a result of that is Gravenberch, but De Mos believes that if he’s a target, Kökçü should be as well.

“I think Lazio Rome and Roma, AC Milan and Tottenham, those are teams that could definitely fit,” he said.

“If it’s a coach who wants to play attacking football and wants to play good football, then possibly, because it’s all grafted on young players, if Gravenberch can play at Liverpool, and Gakpo, he can also play at Liverpool.”

“I think he should look at a club that really suits him. He shouldn’t make the mistake of going to Bayern Munich because of course it’s a hierarchy that determines who plays and who doesn’t, and also determines whether a coach is good enough.

“You’ve seen that now with Nagelsmann and Tuchel, the situation. He has to look at a team where the coach really wants him, then I think it’s mainly with Liverpool.”
