Following the sacking of Antonio Conte, Tottenham drew up a list of managers they wanted to look at to replace the Italian, and among those names was Oliver Glasner.

The manager has done a great job at Eintracht Frankfurt, which clearly caught the eye of Daniel Levy, and that’s why he was included.

His contract with the Bundesliga side expires next year, and there is a release clause that can be triggered before the last game of the season, but Tottenham are yet to do so and Frankfurt are still trying to renew their manager, as per Florian Plettenberg.

There was hope he would do so, but the latest to come out of Germany is that the 48-year-old Austrian is ‘still hesitating’ about giving the final approval to the new contract.

Because of this, those in charge of Eintracht are ‘already probing the market’ for a replacement, and there have been talks with Red Bull Salzburg’s Matthias Jaissle.

That certainly will come as a boost for Tottenham, whose vacant job could be behind Glasner’s hesitation.

After all, it’s now been a while since Antonio Conte was sacked, and it appears the London side are no closer to appointing a new manager, even if it is one starting from next season onwards.
