Roma manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a move for Leicester City defender James Justin as he looks to bolster his squad for next season.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Italian side are in need of a new right-back after Zeki Celik’s struggles this season and Mourinho’s poor relationship with Rick Karsdorp.
They are scouring the market for possible options and Tiago Pinto has trained his eye on the Premier League and Leicester in particular.
He and Mourinho are keen on James Justin, who is represented by CAA Stellar, who also represent the like of Sofyan Amrabat and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Mourinho ‘respects him a lot’ and had already made a note of him after the clash with Leicester in the Conference League last year.
He’s now eyeing up a potential deal, particularly if Leicester end up relegated, with those in charge at the club accepting of the fact they will not be able to keep hold of their best players if they are. Justin is one of them.
Roma would be looking for a loan with a right to buy set at €20m as they don’t want to take any big financial risks on a player who suffered an Achilles tendon laceration last year, something which has ‘kept him in the pits’ since November.
Whether Leicester would sanction such a deal isn’t mentioned but the interest from Roma, and Mourinho in particular, is there, nonetheless.
