Fulham’s interest in Porto midfielder Mateus Uribe is now being backed up in the Portuguese media.
Today, it’s newspaper Record who claims that the Whites have joined the race to sign the 32-year-old.
Uribe’s contract with Porto expires at the end of the season, and that’s why several sides have been getting interested in his signing.
Record writes that the midfielder doesn’t have an offer in hands yet. But they do point out he’s already wanted in Mexico, Brazil and now Italy and England, since Lazio and Fulham are added to the list of pretenders.
Regarding the Whites, it’s pointed out that the London side could afford the salary Uribe demands, and they can also offer him the chance of playing in the ‘best league in the world’.
So it’s claimed that ‘could convince’ him to move to Craven Cottage.
Fulham had already been linked to Uribe by newspaper O Jogo at the start of the week.
It had been claimed that the English club made ‘informal contacts’ for the signing, and they actually stand in a good position in this race, because the Premier League are ‘on top of his preferences’ for a summer switch.
