Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci’s agent will today hold talks with Empoli with regards to a move to the Serie A side for his client.
Yesterday we covered reports that Empoli were the latest Italian side to show an interest in the 26-year-old.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed the representatives of Bellusci will today meet with the Empoli president to discuss a move back to Italy for Bellusci.
The central defender spent the last two seasons at Leeds United after joining from Catania, but in recent months the player has come under fire for his performances.
This has led to speculation he will return to his home country this summer, and a transfer to Empoli looks close.
The Tuscan side recently sold their star defender Lorenzo Tonelli to Napoli, and subsequently see the Leeds United star as an ideal replacement.
Sampdoria, Bologna, Torino and Ascoli have also been showing an interest in recent weeks, but it looks like Empoli may have won the race to sign Bellusci.
