With Belgian side Charleroi suddenly finding a great form in the final part of the season, the local media now talks about the changes that led to this turnaround this year.
In a piece from Walfoot, among the positive points the club has been showing, there’s the arrival of Vakoun Bayo from Watford.
The 26-year-old left the Hornets for Charleroi on a short six-month deal, but that has been enough for him to make an impact at the club.
Walfoot highlights that despite having only eight appearances, Bayo has been doing ‘a lot of good’ since his arrival. It’s said he was the ‘missing piece’ they needed to turn things around.
The story highlights the special moments the Watford loanee has been having so far, and points out he could still ‘play a big role’ in the final fixtures of the season.
Bayo was signed by the Hornets last summer from the very same Charloroi on a €5.8m deal. In his six months at the English club, he had four goals and one assist in 25 appearances.
That’s when Watford made the decision to loan him out to his old club, and it’s turning out to be a positive move for now, as he could return next summer with a lot more confidence.
