Since the start of the season, we saw many times Tottenham Hotspur getting linked to Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.
The player’s potential shown with the Nerazzurri generated many rumours about his future, even though he always seemed focused on the Serie A side.
Now as Italian newspaper Tuttosport features a story about Bastoni’s contract situation, it seems there could still be a chance for Tottenham and other interested clubs to push for his signing this summer.
It’s said that the 23-year-old would like to stay at Inter Milan, but with no agreement for a contract extension, ‘he will most likely say goodbye’.
Bastoni’s deal with the Nerazzurri expires in 2024 and the club can’t even think of losing him for free.
The club are said to be making offers which are ‘very far from the hopes of the footballer’, and there’s still great distance for a common ground between the parties.
Tuttosport recalls that Tottenham, as well as Manchester City, had shown ‘concrete interest’ in the player in the past.
Even though he never teased with an exit from Inter Milan, this contract situation could end up pushing him out of the club, especially if the Serie A side fail to qualify for the Champions League.
