One of the big questions for Inter Milan going forward is what happens to Denzel Dumfries and if he leaves, who do they replace him with?
It appears the answer to that could be Ivan Fresneda, currently at Real Valladolid, but that would mean competing with teams like Newcastle United.
That’s according to Inter News, who have an article on the matter, explaining the Spaniard is the latest name to be added to the Serie A club’s list of replacements for Dumfries.
They have been ‘testing the waters’ for various possibilities, but the young defender is also being ‘followed’ by clubs such as Newcastle and Manchester United.
The former’s interest is nothing new, as they were widely touted as wanting to sign Fresneda during the January transfer window, only for no deal to take place.
As for how much the player would cost, it’s a very affordable sum for Newcastle, as ‘the cost of the operation is around €25m’.
Considering Kieran Trippier won’t last forever, signing someone like the Valladolid starlet could go a long way, but they must be aware that Inter could have a ‘preferential lane’ through Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) who is a majority owner at Valladolid.
Newcastle have been warned.
