There is no reason for Inter Milan to try and bring Ivan Perisic back from Tottenham this summer after their attempts to keep him last year fell on deaf ears.
That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Biasin, covered by Inter News 24, who says the Italian club need to move forward from the Croatia star.
Perisic spent seven years at Inter after arriving from VfL Wolfsburg in August 2015 but only really established himself as a star at the club during Antonio Conte’s time in charge.
He eventually left to reunite with the Italian coach at Tottenham last summer, ending his time at Inter with a record of 55 goals and 49 assists in 254 games for the club.
He’s been a steady if unremarkable player at Tottenham this season, with nine assists and one goal in 36 games in all competitions so far this season.
With Conte now gone there has been speculation he could also be on the move, with a return to Inter a possibility. Biasin can’t see the sense in that move, though.
“Everyone says that Inter lost Perisic, but the club had made him an offer that was above its possibilities,” he said.
“In the end they had even raised the offer, in my opinion exaggerating. I don’t understand why Inter should go and get him back. We need to move on.”
