Newcastle United have ‘listened carefully’ to super-agent Jorge Mendes as he lines up a move for Ansu Fati.
That’s according to Sport, who say the player’s agent has been ‘probing the market’ for months and been in touch with the Magpies as a result.
The newspaper explains that Fati has taken a step closer to leaving Barcelona this summer after his father and agent, Bori Fati, made explosive comments about the club and his situation.
Mendes, who also works as the player’s agent, has been working on a possible departure and believes there are ‘serious options’ to secure a big transfer this summer.
On that front everything goes through the Premier League and Newcastle United are one of those who are ‘very attentive’ to the situation in case the footballer decides to leave in June.
Mendes has been in contact with those in charge at St James’ Park and they have ‘listened carefully’ to what he’s had to say about the situation. They are ‘convinced of the attraction’ that the footballer arouses and would seemingly be ready to pay to secure his signature.
At the moment they are yet to make a serious move and, like this other suitors, Newcastle are waiting for events to transpire before making their move.
They are convinced that Barcelona will need to sell in the summer and that Fati will want a move, a perfect storm that can lead to a transfer.
