In the past week, it seemed like Manchester United could have a boost if they want to get serious over signing Ansu Fati from Barcelona.

The talented 20-year-old has been struggling to hold a starting position at the Catalan side. That’s why the Spanish press reported his value had dropped, and clubs like Manchester United were dragged into the picture.

But it turns out that as Cadena Ser writes about the youngster’s situation, they point out that Fati should go nowhere this summer.

According to the outlet, there was a meeting on Monday between the player’s father, Bori Fati, and Barcelona directors Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff.

There, the club ‘reassured’ Fati’s dad that the winger will be an important player in the squad, and they are not considering selling him.

Cadena Ser even point out that recent stories claimed Jorge Mendes has been offering the player around, recalling that Manchester United and other Premier League sides had been named as clubs the agent has tried. They now believe Barça are focused on giving the youngster more chances to succeed at the Camp Nou.

What happens between now and the end of the season will be key, because Mendes won’t want to see Fati further fade away.
