Since joining West Ham United on a €36m move from Sassuolo last summer, Gianluca Scamacca is still to have impressive numbers for the Hammers, achieving only seven goals in 26 appearances so far.
It turns out the striker is still highly rated in Italy, where, despite his recent move to London, he’s still mentioned in the rumour mill.
That was now done at Rete Sport, where Gianluca Piacentini made an interesting suggestion regarding Scamacca’s future.
The journalist had been speaking of the future of AS Roma star Tammy Abraham, who has at the Giallorossi similar number to those of Scamacca at West Ham this season.
It turns out that Piacentini suggested that the Serie A side could sell their striker to the Hammers, as long as they get the Italian player in exchange, along with some money.
“The substitute? With that money in hand you can take another of that value there, if not higher. However, this discourse is valid for everyone, not just for Abraham. If West Ham offers me €30m + Scamacca, I’ll give him to them… That’s more or less the profile.”
Tammy Abraham is obviously used to playing in English football, as he spent many years at Chelsea, and also had loans at the likes of Bristol City, Swansea and Aston Villa.

Still, as reasonable as that idea may sound, the Hammers should probably find a deal for less money involved, unless they are really desperate to get rid of Scamacca in the summer.
