The report doesn’t seem to know the precise reason for the trip, but everything indicates that it’s related to the financial scam he was a victim of.
That ended up becoming a huge story in Brazil, especially because it involved other players, including Fluminense striker William Bigode, who mediated the operation.
With the scam gaining such big media attention, it’s likely things will start moving faster now, with the responsible company being chased by the federal police, so it’s reasonable that Scarpa has issues to deal with in the country.
According to UOL, he’s travelling back to England on Monday evening, and should have no problem facing Newcastle United on Friday, although he hasn’t featured in the Reds’ recent matches.
