Player to become a ‘prisoner’ of money due to upcoming Everton exit – Club looking for solution

Juventus’ operation to sign Moise Kean from Everton always seemed questionable, as the Old Lady will be spending a total of €37m to keep the striker at the club.

Since rejoining the Serie A giants on an initial loan, the 23-year-old was never highly disappointing, but couldn’t impress either. With seven goals in 32 appearances this season, he’s only been a useful player for the Serie A side so far, and will be forced to complete the permanent move this summer.

It turns out that his red card against Roma at the weekend became a heavy issue at Juventus. The aggression after a few seconds on the pitch was taken as an inexplicable attitude, and besides manager Massimliano Allegri revealing he should be fined, the club could take bigger action about that.

The problem is that the Old Lady spent too much to sign him from Everton, and as CalcioMercato.it writes, Kean is now a ‘prisoner’ of his own price. It’s unlikely the Italian club could sell him for anything close to that amount, and won’t want to lose money so quickly either.

Kean’s attitude is being commented on everywhere in the local media, and website Calcio Mercato highlights some comments from his brother Giovanni Kean, who took to Instagram to defend the former Everton player

“Unfortunately, Italian football is this: they only know how to judge and then you wonder why there aren’t many Italian footballers. You massacre them every game.”
