Just last week, we saw reports from Portugal saying Liverpool are interested in Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio.
It was claimed that the Reds sent a scout to see the player in action against Porto, and could move for him at the end of the season.
It turns out that Liverpool watched Sporting once again this week. This time, in a different trip, as they had an emissary in the Lions’ Europa League match against FC Midtjylland.
That’s today reported by Portuguese newspaper Record, who says the Reds were one of the many clubs scouting that game.
Inácio had a safe performance, keeping the danger away from the box, and with Sporting winning the match 4-0, there wasn’t a lot more from him to do.
Record doesn’t specifically say that Liverpool were there to see him, but with a scouting mission last week, he now seems to be their obvious target.
Inácio is protected by a €45m release and valued by Transfermakrt at €23m.
With Sporting needing to make sales at the end of the season, he’s one of the candidates to leave.
