Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has told his teammates they will have to “run like there’s no tomorrow” if they wish to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Spanish side take on Erik ten Hag’s side in the second leg of their Europa League knockout clash on Thursday following a scintillating 2-2 draw at Camp Nou.

The two sides head into the clash in a strong run of form, with Manchester United getting back to their best and currently sitting third in the Premier League and just three points behind Manchester City in second and five behind leaders Arsenal.

Barcelona, meanwhile, sit eight points clear of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga after losing just one of their 22 league games this season.

Both sides are arguably focused on their league positions, but the Europa League offers a chance at silverware and a guaranteed place in the Champions League next season if they can win it.

If Barcelona are to do so they will need to pick up a huge result at Old Trafford, something which will not be easy to do given Manchester United have the second best home record in the Premier League this season.

Torres knows all about how difficult it is to play there following his time at Manchester City and has told his current team exactly what they must do if they are to win this game.

“To beat United, you have to run like there’s no tomorrow, have the ball and know how to suffer because Old Trafford is very tight,” Mundo Deportivo report him saying.

“They are in great form, you only have to look at Rashford, but we are Barça.

“We’re confident, we’re coming off the back of a very good run in La Liga, with seven straight wins, and we’re looking forward to eating up the world.”
