Isco would bring ‘talent’ to Everton that they desperately need and getting him in would be just a ‘matter of negotiations’.
That’s according to Sport, who cover the potential move to Goodison Park today after reports in England linked Everton with the free agent.
The Spaniard was set to join Union Berlin at the end of the transfer window after being released by Sevilla but that deal ended up breaking down after he made extra demands after an initial agreement had been reached.
He’s now looking for an alternative option and has been linked to Everton, who failed to sign a single player in the January transfer window despite being in need of reinforcements.
Sport cover that today and say that their team has been left ‘bereft of talent’ by the departure of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle and Isco could bring that if he were to sign for them.
It would only be a ‘matter of negotiations’ with the player to get him signed to the dotted line, although given they would have to be held with Jorge Mendes and the trouble Union Berlin had, it’s a stretch to say they would be easy.
Nonetheless he is available to sign, despite the window being closed, and as far as Sport are concerned, Everton cannot afford to be picky.
Having registered just 22 players for the Premier League squad, Everton now have three gaps to fill with three agents if they so wish, which is where Isco would come in.
