Even though it’s no secret that São Paulo dream of signing Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur, it seems they now had a response which may stop their chase.
That’s today reported by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, who reveals a ‘decisive meeting’ the club had with the player’s agent.
It’s said São Paulo recently held a conversation with Junior Pedroso where they wanted to know the conditions to, perhaps, make an official offer to sign the player.
Moura’s contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season, which means he could make that move for free, but not even that situation should make the operation possible.
That’s because São Paulo, who were already planning to find partners to help them pay the player’s salary, were left with the ‘impression’ that the 30-year-old is staying in Europe for at least one more year.
Regardless of continuing Tottenham or not, the player feels like he’s young enough to stay in the Old Continent for longer.
The move to São Paulo is set to be left for later, when he returns to Brazil to end his career.
