Leeds United have agreed to allow Diego Llorente to join AS Roma on deadline day and during the negotiations for the defender, the two clubs talked about Nicolò Zaniolo.
Earlier on Tuesday, reports from Italy stated the Serie A side have not accepted the Whites’ offer to sign the forward on loan with an option to buy, which will be converted into an obligation if he makes a certain number of appearances.
Calciomercato then explained the 23-year-old has made it clear he likes the option to join Leeds, who have submitted a proposal with his agent.
Corriere dello Sport state Zaniolo requested permission from Roma to travel away from the Italian capital. He was granted a day’s leave, which saw him travel to La Spezia on Monday.
Zaniolo was scheduled to arrive for training today, but he ‘didn’t show up’ and is waiting to resolve his future. Corriere adds that he risks facing disciplinary action from the club.
With Leeds having already made an offer, it needs to be seen whether the Premier League side will be able to sign him on deadline day.
