Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Pedro Porro has been going on for much of the January transfer window.
In the first half of the month, it was repeatedly reported in Portugal that Spurs didn’t want to pay the €45m Sporting CP were asking for, which is the value of the defender’s clause.
As the days went on, the Premier League club got closer to that amount, and over the weekend it was reported a verbal agreement had been reached for €48m.
The extra €3m was to pay for financing so Sporting could get the money all at once. Monday morning saw claims of the move struggling, with both the Lisbon club and Tottenham telling their local media their own version of the story,
Record now report an agreement has been reached which will see Spurs pay €47.5m and also give up 15% of the transfer rights they hold over Marcus Edwards.
That then, should be that.
