Leeds United will meet with Juventus again today to try and work out a deal for midfielder Weston McKennie.
That’s according to La Repubblica, who say there is still a gap between the two sides in their valuations but ‘confidence’ an agreement can be struck.
Earlier today we covered a report from Gazzetta dello Sport that stated the two sides were continuing to negotiate for the American midfielder, with Leeds even willing to pay more for the initial loan deal.
La Repubblica pick up on that and say that there is ‘still a gap’ between Juventus and Leeds, with the Italian side wanting €35m and Victor Orta and co so far only offering €28m.
That difference needs to be worked out but ‘there is confidence’ that the two sides can reach an agreement before Tuesday’s deadline.
That means one major step has already been taken towards getting him and the two clubs are ‘intent on reaching’ an agreement at some point in the coming hours.
It’s a situation that is constantly evolving, with Juventus boss Max Allegri confirming that the two sides are negotiating and even saying a deal has been struck in his press conference today.
“McKennie will not be available tomorrow because he is at the centre of a negotiation,” the club’s official Twitter account report him saying.
“I think the club has already found an agreement with his new team and therefore he won’t be there tomorrow.”
