Back on Wednesday, Brazilian outlet UOL broke the news about Everton’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura.
They claimed their journalist André Hernan had some information about an approach from the Toffees for the signing, but couldn’t bring any more details at the time.
It turns out Hernan then featured a video on YouTube about the situation, explaining this ‘query’ made by Everton for the Tottenham player.
It’s said the Toffees just went after some information on Moura’s situation, since his contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season.
According to Hernan’s learning, Everton’s intention is not to sign the player in the January transfer window, as that would require some kind of financial compensation to Tottenham.
So the idea is really to get him for free in the summer.
Everton’s approach for Moura is also backed up by journalist Jorge Nicola, who points out there are clubs from several leagues wanting to sign him.
He adds that in case the Toffees get relegated at the end of the season, then the move becomes very unlikely, as the Spurs winger will not want to play in the Championship.
