Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fábio Silva has not been included in Anderlecht’s squad to take on Zulte Waregem tonight as he edges closer to a return to Molineux.
That’s according to Walfoot, who say the player has been left out of Brian Riemer’s squad ‘at his own request’.
The move comes amid reports that he could be set to return to Wolves this month and potentially sent on loan to PSV Eindhoven.
We covered a report from Belgium yesterday that stated Silva was edging closer to a return to Wolves this month, with them considering calling him back from his loan spell at Anderlecht.
That same report stated he could be sent on loan to PSV Eindhoven and was followed by another claiming that Silva was ‘unmotivated’ in training at Anderlecht and wanted to move elsewhere.
Walfoot now say he has asked to be left out of the squad for the clash with Zulte Waregem this evening, something which is seen as ‘bad news’ for the Belgian club.
The belief is that ‘the Portuguese is leaving’ and returning to Wolves, although whether he will be staying at Molineux or moving elsewhere before the end of the month remains to be seen, with PSV reportedly very keen to want him.
