João Gomes’ transfer from Flamengo to Wolverhampton Wanderers seems to be in real danger at this stage.
Earlier today, journalist Venê Casagrande had already brought some details on that pursuit, claiming the Brazilian club had put the deal on hold as Lyon presented an offer for the midfielder.
Several outlets then covered the news saying the French club are putting on the table a couple of more million than Wolves.
It turns out that Casagrande now shares a new update on the case, this time revealing that an official from Lyon is in Rio de Janeiro to try to hijack the player’s move to Molineux.
According to the report, Flamengo already ‘backed off’ from the agreement they had with Wolves, as they prefer the offer from the French club.
Still, it’s insisted that João Gomes ‘keeps the decision’ of signing for the Premier League club. That seems to be what is saving Wolverhampton’s chances for now.
With things moving very quickly, it’d be no surprise if the final decision is taken in the coming hours.
