Chelsea parted ways with Thomas Tuchel in September and immediately appointed Graham Potter as his successor.
The Blues have struggled under the former Brighton manager, managing eight wins in 19 matches, out of which four came in the Champions League.
Chelsea have won two of their last 10 matches in all competitions, which includes EFL Cup and the FA Cup defeats, both at the hands of Manchester City.
Bild explain Chelsea owner Todd Boehly had looked at Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner before appointing Potter as Tuchel’s successor. He helped the German club win the Europa League and that made him an interesting option for the Premier League side.
Glasner’s situation may change if the Bundesliga side fail to qualify for the Champions League next season. They are fourth in the table, level on points with fifth placed Union Berlin. In any case, the Frankfurt coach keeps ‘all doors open’, according to Bild.
“If I say now, I’ll stay here anyway – and then something extraordinary will happen, maybe the club will say: ‘Oliver, do it…’
“It’s the same for me as it is for a player – the market makes the laws,” he told Bid.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will go back for Glasner after this season or look for a new manager soon, if they decide to sack Potter.
