Two days ago, we covered multiple claims made in France that Aston Villa are ready to make an offer of €30m to sign Mattéo Guendouzi in the winter market.
It was also stated Unai Emery has already held talks with the Marseille player over a possible move to Villa Park.
Pablo Longoria, the Ligue 1 side’s president, insisted on Thursday there are no talks with Aston Villa. However, he did claim that he is unaware if the Villans are in discussions with the 23-year-old’s camp.
Marseille, for now, have not had any contact from Emery’s side. However, there are claims made elsewhere the English club could soon present the first offer to sign the midfielder.
Although Marseille are not a selling club on paper, L’Equipe say Longaria has a stance that no player is barred from being sold.
In other words, if Aston Villa were to table a convincing proposal, there is a possibility for them to reunite Emery and Guendouzi at the club. The midfielder had previously played under the Spaniard’s orders when the pair were at Arsenal.
