STVV defender Ameen Al-Dakhil boarded a flight to Manchester at 10am this morning as he closes in on a move to Burnley.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says Burnley have pushed for a move this month to avoid paying more in the summer when they may be a Premier League side again.
The Clarets have been keen on Al-Dakhil since the summer but were unable to strike a deal with STVV for the youngster at the time.
They’ve continued to be linked since then and are pushing at the beginning of this month to get a deal over the line.
A report today made it clear that an agreement was now in place and the player had flown for a medical and Tavolieri now provides an update on that.
He says Burnley wanted a deal for the defender to happen this month as they wanted to avoid ‘paying too much’ this summer when they may have been promoted to the Premier League.
Indeed he is on his way to Burnley for a medical after catching a flight to Manchester at 10am this morning, with an announcement probably on the way.
