When Sampdoria agreed to loan Harry Winks from Tottenham, the idea was that he would be available for the whole season.
However, a calf injury meant that he missed the first half of the season, spending it trying to get better instead before it was deemed necessary for the Spurs man to have surgery.
That has now been done, and following a seemingly successful recovery period, he could be set to finally make his Sampdoria debut soon.
While that’s great, it’s fair to say Sampdoria haven’t exactly received the player they thought they would, which is why Samp News 24 are reporting that the Serie A side are negotiating a change to the original agreement with Tottenham.
This is because of the player’s ‘unavailability for almost the entire first leg’ of the campaign, and it appears Tottenham are inclined to agree, given they want what’s best for their player.
If it means paying a bit more of his wages to ensure he plays for Sampdoria until the end of the season, then so be it.
