It’s been a few days since we’ve had any real update on Leicester City and their pursuit of Atalanta’s Jeremie Boga, but Gazzetta dello Sport have provided one.
Relayed by Tutto Atalanta, the newspaper explain that after agreeing terms with Marseille with Ruslan Malinovskyi, the Serie A side are working on offloading the Ivory Coast international, who has barely been used by Gian Piero Gasperini this season.
Leicester already tried to sign the winger during the summer window, but a last minute change of mind led him to stay put in Bergamo.
That hasn’t worked out for anyone, especially the former Chelsea man, and that’s why there is talk of him leaving in January.
Leicester are one of the interested clubs, and it’s claimed that Lee Congerton, in charge of transfers at Atalanta, ‘negotiates the sale’ of the player.
It’s explained the chief is ‘ready to reactive contacts with the Foxes’ regarding a deal for Boga, with the idea of a loan with an option to buy in his mind.
Despite the winger previously turning down the move, he could look at it differently now considering his situation, and the fact Brendan Rodgers is still keen to work with him.
