Ever since Elia Caprile was sold by Leeds United to Bari in Serie B, there has been talk of the Elland Road side including a 50% sell on clause.
That means the Whites will get half of whatever transfer fee the Italian club sell their now star goalkeeper for in the future, with that deal potentially right around the corner.
With Napoli being owned by Aurelio De Laurentiis and Bari by his son, Luigi De Laurentiis Jr., the idea that Caprile could move to the Serie A side quickly was put forward almost immediately.
For Leeds, this changes very little, although they were probably expecting to have to wait a bit longer for their money than just six months.
However, it’s pointed out that ‘some difficulties have to be overcome’, as there is currently ‘no agreement with the player’s agents’, and they have to think about the 50% resale that would go to Leeds.
Furthermore, Benfica are reportedly taking an interest, although considering Caprile is a huge Napoli fan, we doubt a move to Portuguese football over his dream team would entice him.
