Back in early December, back when the World Cup was still in full swing, it was reported that Leeds United were interested in Abdelhamid Sabiri.
The Morocco international played a big part in his national team’s great run in the competition, which is why it wasn’t surprising to see Premier League teams take an interest.
Leeds were said to like him a lot, but it was made clear at the time that Sampdoria would require at least €10m to convince the Serie A side to sell their player.
That’s the amount Sampdoria ‘would like to obtain’, but Leeds won’t go that high at first, with it stated that the Elland Road side ‘could put a figure between €6-7m on the plate’.
While this is lower than what the Italians are asking for, it’s made clear that it ‘would not be impossible to find an agreement’ if such an amount was put forward.
Something to keep an eye on, but with Mateusz Klich on his way out, the Pole will need replacing.
