Saarbrücken’s Luca Kerber has admitted he is “very honoured” by interest from Brighton and Hove Albion and Rangers FC but does not intend to move this season.
Kerber has reportedly been earning interest thanks to his performances with the 3. Liga side this season.
Reports have made it clear that both Brighton and Michael Beale’s Rangers are keen on the 20-year-old and that they could move to snap him up before other sides join the race.
Indeed, a report today again named Brighton as suitors, but made it clear that they would have to pay as much as €2m if they wished to sign the central midfielder.
They insist that Saarbrücken are not interested in selling their youngster any time soon, but time is running out for them to make any profit on him as his current deal expires in 2024. This window and the summer are therefore their last opportunities to sell him.
The club, therefore, ‘would probably not say no’ to more than €1.5m were it to be offered by any of the player’s suitors.
Kerber has a different idea in mind and has made it clear he does not intend to move this year, although that could change if Saarbrücken are not promoted.
“I want to move up to the 2nd division with my heart’s club Saarbrücken and I still have a lot of plans for the future with the club,” he told the newspaper.
“I see good development opportunities for me at FCS, especially under the new coach Rüdiger Ziehl, who is giving me really good support.”
