Following the recent claims from the English media saying Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer €40m for the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting, the Portuguese press now reacts to it.
Not long ago, Lisbon outlets sounded very sure that the fullback was well protected by the Lions. That’s because the club had no intention of letting him go for less than his €45m release clause, and he’d be focused on finishing the season with them.
However, as Correio da Manhã now covers the news about Tottenham’s potential offer, they point out that in case that’s true, there are good chances for an agreement.
The outlet first writes that despite Sporting’s plan to keep the player at least until the end of the season, the €40m offer could make them ‘consider a potential deal’. And regarding Porro’s wish to stay, it’s claimed that even though he’s happy at the Lions, an offer ‘of millions’ could ‘make him change his mind’.
It now seems like a matter of waiting and seeing if Tottenham’s offer will indeed be made. With an entire transfer window ahead, Spurs seem to already have a good sign that this deal is possible.
