Nottingham Forest have show ‘concrete interest’ in Standard Liege midfielder Selim Amallah, who may be living his last days with the Belgian club.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who say Standard are ‘willing to cooperate’ in any negotiations for the 26-year-old.
HN report that Amallah is ‘about to cash in’ on the strong World Cup campaign he enjoyed with Morocco in Qatar.
Amallah was a key part of Morocco’s run to the semi-finals of the competition, featuring gin all seven games as both a starter and a substitute.
He is being targeted by both Valencia and Nottingham Forest, with the Premier League side showing ‘concrete interest’ in a deal next month.
The player is ripe for a transfer as his current contract at Standard is set to expire in the summer and negotiations over an extension broke down; something which has seen Amallah sent to train with the B-team.
Standard are ‘willing to cooperate’ and make a transfer happen in January to avoid losing the player on a free transfer in the summer.
Their aim is capture a ‘limited transfer fee’ for the creative midfielder, although Het Nieuwsblad fail to name a specific figure.
It remains to be seen what Nottingham Forest need to put on the table to get their man, then, but the interest is there, and Standard are more than willing to do a deal.
