While Liverpool have Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, Crystal Palace are having to make do with Joel Ward, who isn’t exactly getting any younger.
That being said, both the Reds and the Eagles are after the same player if Jeunes Footeux in France are to be believed.
The player in question is Sacha Boey, who currently plays for Galatasaray in Turkey, where he moved to during the summer of 2021 from Rennes for a fee of €1.15m.
He’s been a key player for them since, and his performances have caught the attention of Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
Lyon are also on the case, but it’s pointed out that ‘competition is tough’, as ‘many clubs from the Premier League’ are interested.
As part of that, ‘notably Liverpool and especially Crystal Palace’ are named, and Patrick Vieira ‘wants to prepare the succession’ of Joel Ward, while he ‘isn’t convinced’ by Nathaniel Clune.
In fact, the Selhurst Park side ‘are seemingly ready to put €16m on the table’ to sign the Galatasaray player.
Whether Liverpool would want to match that remains to be seen, but it appears Crystal Palace are ready to make the first move.
