Clubs in ‘Europe’s top leagues’ are eyeing a deal for striker Salomón Rondón following his departure from Everton.
That’s according to AS, who say the forward ‘wants to continue playing at the highest level’ in both club and international football.
They explain that Rondón has entered a ‘new stage’ in his career after becoming a free agent four days ago when he and Everton agreed to an immediate termination of his contract.
He is now free to join a new club on a free transfer, which is seen as a ‘plus of interest’ for teams who are looking for attacking players in the January transfer window.
They want to remain at the highest level so that Rondón can continue his international career with Venezuela.
The striker is seen as a ‘winter bargain’ for clubs, with the newspaper stating that he has been a ‘sure goal scorer’ in every team he has played for.
They also argue that he was a ‘key player’ in Everton’s fight against relegation last season, although we’re sure the Toffees would argue against both of those points given, he only managed three goals at Goodison Park and missed the end of the season through suspension after being sent off against Brentford.
Either way, he is now on the market, and it seems that despite his struggles on Merseyside, he will have teams ready to offer him a contract.
