Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio was interviewed this week by Dutch outlet Soccer News. The conversation was obviously about the transfer market, with the expert previewing what should happen in the coming months.
One of the questions was about Sofyan Amrabat, who’s in the spotlight following the World Cup campaign with Morocco, and even though the talk was about a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur, the reporter suddenly made that become a Liverpool topic.
That’s because, according to Di Marzio, the midfielder’s agency would like to see the player moving to Anfield, and that’s a big advantage the Reds should have over the other interested clubs.
“He has all the characteristics he needs to play under Anonio Conte. But at the moment they are very happy with Bentancur, and he plays in the same position. But I think Amrabat’s agency, Stellar, is going to make an attempt to bring him to Liverpool in the Premier League,” Di Marzio told Soccer News.
“Everyone sees something in that, it would be the agency’s dream as well as that of the player in question. And Klopp wants to capture a new central midfielder… There have been talks but no official moves yet.”
Recent reports in recent weeks have claimed that Amrabat’s entourage already met Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ahead of a potential transfer to Anfield.
It’s been said that the player is a long-time wish from the Reds, who are now working to find an agreement with Fiorentina.
