Over the past few days, we have seen an increase of stories sending Adrien Rabiot to Newcastle United, who are allegedly keen on the France international.
The midfielder came close to moving to the Premier League in the summer when Manchester United were interested, but the deal never came off, leaving him for another season at Juventus.
This means Rabiot has entered the final year of his contract with the Serie A club, and there is a very big chance that he leaves on a free in the summer.
Whether he gets that far remains to be seen, with it said that Newcastle are ready to spend money to get him sooner, and Corriere dello Sport believe it’s either that or a free transfer for the Frenchman.
They write that Juventus ‘already know they will lose Adrien Rabiot at the end of the season on a free transfer’, but they would need an ‘irrefutable offer’ to let him go in January, such is his importance to Max Allegra’s plans at the moment.
The fact Rabiot recently made it clear he wants to play in England at some point has been another boost for Newcastle, and it’s pointed out he ‘plans to return to the top league as an established player’ following a brief spell as a kid at Manchester City.
Either way, Newcastle have a real chance here if they do want the World Cup player, who will now be preparing to face England on Saturday evening in the quarter finals.
