FC Midtjylland have been backed to sign Rangers FC’s Glen Kamara in the winter market.
The Danish club are in the market looking for a new midfielder after allowing Evander to seal a move to MLS side Portland Timbers earlier this month.
Tipsbladet discuss the options Midtjylland could look at to replace the Brazilian and the first name on the list is that of the Rangers player.
Although Evander and Michael Beale’s man mainly operate in the middle of the pitch, the report states the latter isn’t as nearly dangerous as the Brazilian when attacking.
Tipsbladet editor-in-chief Troels Bager Thøgersen is of the belief the Rangers midfielder’s profile can help him land a small club from the top five leagues in Europe.
At the same time, he claims Kamara ‘fits in well’ with what the Danish Superliga side are looking in the market.
“Kamara could easily end up in a smaller club in one of the top 5 leagues, but as a Scandinavian (Finnish) national team player, he fits in well with what FCM also wants,” Thøgersen said.
“He is definitely not a 1-on-1 replacement for Evander, but if FCM are willing to make a reshuffle in midfield, where Olsson is moved into a more offensively focused role, Kamara could be used.”
