Leeds United target Jesus Vazquez had a very good chance to prove himself against the Whites, as Valencia had a friendly against the Elland Road side’s U21s.
It turns out the left-back had a great performance, and is now praised by the Spanish media.
As reported by Super Deporte, Vazquez made three assists in Valencia’s 8-0 win over Leeds’ youngsters. Strangely, they were all made in a space of nine minutes.
It’s well known that the left-back hadn’t been playing much. That’s why manager Gennaro Gattuso made him the only player who started both halves in that match.
Vazquez’s lack of playing time is one of the reasons why he’s been linked to a move out of Valencia. This week, reports claimed Leeds had ‘joined the bid’ for his signing, and even said the player could ‘choose’ his destination for a departure from Mestalla.
With the clubs facing each other and Vazquez being able to show all of his qualities, this seems like a great chance for the Whites to initiate contacts and try to get the transfer done.
