Brighton man reiterates transfer “dream” – “Would definitely wish” for move despite feeling undervalued

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Groß has again admitted he dreams of a return to the Bundesliga at some point in future.

Groß has been with Brighton since 2017, when he arrived in a €3m deal from Ingolstadt, the first time he has played outside of his homeland.

He had previously spent all of his career in Germany with the likes Neckrau, Hoffenheim, Karlsruhe and Ingolstadt.

He’s been a key player for Brighton since his arrival, racking up 185 appearances to date and 22 goals and 31 assists in total.

He had looked set to leave the club in the summer when his contract was coming to an end but eventually signed a new deal that will potentially keep him at the club until 2024.

Before that deal was signed, he was heavily linked with a return to Germany and openly admitted that he would like to play in his homeland again.

That is something he has again confirmed, despite a feeling that he is undervalued in the Bundesliga after his time there.

“Since I only played in Ingolstadt before, whose media presence is not the greatest, I assume that my name is a bit bigger here in England,” he told Sky Sports Germany.

“But of course, also because I’ve been on the island a bit longer now.

“At some point, the step towards home will come. That is my goal, my dream. When the time will come is always hard to say in football, but at some point, I would definitely wish for it.”
