Momo Sissoko believes that despite what is being said elsewhere about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, he could instead decide to stay in the Premier League and sign for Newcastle United.
The Portugal international recently parted ways with Manchester United, after he gave an extensive self-serving interview to Piers Morgan.
During the summer it had been reported he wanted to join a Champions League club, but there doesn’t appear to be a queue forming for his signature.
Speaking to Il Bianconero, Sissoko, who played for clubs including Liverpool, Juventus and PSG, said: “In my opinion he will stay in England and I see him at Newcastle. Only they have the money to be able to afford him in Europe, at least among the teams interested in him.”
That figure would be split between salary and advertising projects.
Newcastle appear to be going in a different direction than using their new wealth to sign ageing stars, and it’s clearly been working for them.
