Newcastle United are among the clubs looking at Borussia Mönchengladbach star Marcus Thuram.

Last Friday, Tutto Juve reported the Magpies are ready to make a bid for the striker in the winter market.

Later that day, we covered a claim from Germany that it is only a question of price for the 25-year-old to leave in January, and Newcastle United were tagged.

The latest report from Bild explains the France international is in demand and is wanted by the Tyneside club and others. He has managed 13 goals and four assists from 17 games this season.

The attacker’s deal expires next June, leaving Gladbach with the next window as the last chance to cash in from his sale.

Bild state the Bundesliga side’s ‘pain threshold’ for Thuram is €10m. This is set because of the ‘blatant management errors’, after failed efforts to sell the player in the previous window or tie him down to a new contract.

Eddie Howe’s side would easily be in a position to meet Mönchengladbach’s demand to sign Thurman in the winter market.

Newcastle will face competition from Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid and Sevilla to sign Thuram.
