As Tottenham players Rodrigo Bentancur and Heung-min Son prepare to meet at the World Cup, there’s already some jovial trash-talk ahead of the match between Uruguay and South Korea.
The South American midfielder today gave a press conference at the national team’s camp, and was asked if his Spurs teammate will be ready to face them in Qatar.
Bentancur not only claimed that Son will be playing despite his face injury, but also jokingly pointed out that he knows how to hurt the Tottenham star.
“He’s coming, yes. I talked to him before coming to find out and I think he’s going to wear a mask, but we already know where to touch him,” joked Rodrigo Bentancur (via El País).
“It’s very complicated. The captain is a friend of mine. They have a great team. They are very dynamic and we know it, but we have great tools and we are going to work on them this week to get there well.”
Bentancur also talked about his recent form at Tottenham and the experience he’s been getting in the past few years, claiming he’s now more ready to play a World Cup.
“I think I arrive with much more experience, with many more games played, with another head. I am much calmer than the previous World Cup and I arrive with a lot of confidence, and enthusiasm to try to win it for Uruguay, which is the goal.”
Uruguay and South Korea play the opening fixture for Group H, as they face each other on the 24th of November, with Portugal versus Ghana coming afterwards.
