Despite the many reported money issues Barcelona have, they still manage to find ways to sign players, and they want to continue doing so.
One of the areas they want to bolster going forward is their midfield, where Sergio Busquets is no longer a spring chicken and heading towards the back end of his career.
That’s why names like Ruben Neves have been mentioned, but there is now a new one courtesy of CMW: Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
The issue here is that the Brazilian has only just renewed his contract at Villa Park, meaning the Premier League side are well protected in any attempt to sign him.
They state that Barcelona ‘would have an offer ready to be presented shortly’ for the Aston Villa star, and ‘in addition to the cash part, they would also include’ Franck Kessie.
The player, who arrived from Milan on a free, ‘is not achieving the desired results’ in Xavi’s system, and that’s why the La Liga side are ‘seriously considering using him as a trading pawn to get’ Douglas Luiz.
So, it would be Franck Kessie + money for the Aston Villa man, which could be of interest for them if Unai Emery sees it as a good deal.
We will have to wait and see, but it might be a good way of getting a bit of cash as well as a proven player if the financial aspect makes sense.
